Covid19
We will make every effort possible to ensure that measures and guidelines are followed to allow the safe operation of a youth event in a church setting. Please ensure your young person does not attend if they have show any symptoms of Covid19 or have a known contact with the illness. If any young person develops symptoms we will contact all parents immediately and close the event.
The below measures are in addition to following the Covid19 risk assessment for Taunton Vineyard Church
Young people will be asked to social distance at all times
They will be encouraged to use the same seat (or their own beanbag) during the main sessions
Hand gel stations will be set up at the entrance/exit of the building and rooms that are used and young people will be encouraged to wash their hands regularly
Current guidance does not require face coverings to be worn. They may be used to offer protection to others. If worn, they must be used properly and hands must be thoroughly washed before use
There will be separate toilets for males and females with hand soap and disposable paper towels. There will also be anti-bacterial wipes to clean any surfaces that have been touched
All games will be designed to avoid touching of shared materials and will respect social distancing measures
Food distribution will be made by the youth team, who will wear gloves at all times
Movement around the building (including stairs) will take into account social distancing measures

LOCKDOWN RESOURCES
While we are all in lockdown, we want to provide you with some links and resources that might encourage you and help you to explore your faith or get closer to God during this unusual time.
We continue to meet via Zoom on a Sunday night at 7:30pm for time together, including playing games, exploring faith and ministering to each-other. For more details and a link to logon please email Anna and John at media@tauntonveinyard.org
Immeasurably More
A few weeks ago we joined together with a number of other Vineyard youth groups across the South West to hear from Zeke Rink (Dreaming the Impossible) and discuss our immeasurably more God together.
If you missed it or if you want to watch it again then then it’s a great resource at this time.
Faith through lockdown
What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus when nobody else is watching?
We are following a series of videos produced by Tim Taylor (Youth Pastor at Highfield Church in Southampton) about faith through lock down.
Part one was about finding some time for silence with God.
We came up with five ways tips to help with this
Start small (maybe 1 minute a day, moving up to five minutes)
Remove any distractions (turn off your phone or put it on aeroplane mode)
Try to find a regular time of the day that works for you
Try to find a regular place
Don’t beat yourself up if you miss a day - just start afresh the next one
YouVersion Bible App
The YouVersion Bible App is a great way to begin to engage with the Bible on your phone, tablet or ipad. You can set a reminder to look at the verse of the day. There is also an image version (or you can make your own in the app).
If you want to go a bit deeper, there are a number of plans you can follow - we particularly recommend the ones by Switch which includes topics such as: God’s Plan for Your Life, Making Wise Choices, How to Share Your Faith and many more.
Dreaming the Impossible
Although the Dreaming the Impossible event this summer has been postponed, the team are still working hard to create and share fresh content on a regular basis.
If you are 13 or over (or encourage your parents to create an account) then over on their Instagram account @dreamingtheimpossible they are going live at 5:00 every Friday afternoon for Stories From Lockdown with inspirational guests, such as Mike Pilavachi (Soul Survivor), Bella Ramsey (up and coming young actress) and Thando Zulu (Youth Pastor at Heart Church Nottingham).
You can also get updates on all things DTI via their Facebook page.
Finally, the team are working hard to develop a YouTube channel where you will be able to engage with content from previous DTI festivals. We’ll update as soon as this becomes avaiable.
Lectio365
If you want to go a bit deeper with your daily reflection then the Lectio365 app is an excellent resource which has been made available by Pete Greig from 24-7 Prayer. Although not specifically aimed at young people it is easily accessible. It takes about 15 minutes and you can set a reminder for each day.
There’s no need to read the reflection - just plug in your headphones, close your eyes and spend some quality time with God!
Movement Worship Nights
Movement Worship are continuing their events online through their YouTube channel to serve the South West and a wider audience.
They run regular live worship nights on a Sunday evening at 6:00pm, which include a time of singing, reflection and a message from the Word.
You can also find out more via their website.
Worship Songs
What songs are you listening to at the moment? This is a place we will continue to share any worship music or songs that are being enjoyed by our young people at the moment.
Please let us know any more suggestions…
The Mind and Soul Foundation
Another resource not specifically aimed at young people but with some accessible resources, particularly through their Instagram page @mindandsouluk
The Mind and Soul Foundation are an organisation which aims to equip Christians around the area of mental health. They believe “…in a God who loves us AND cares about our emotional and mental health.”
One of the directors, Dr Kate Middleton has spoken at the Vineyard National Leaders conference as well as at the recent Vineyard Youth Leaders Gathering.
What’s missing? What would you like to see here? Please let us know!
